Temporary
Works Design

WE DESIGN FROM THE INSIDE OUT

Temporary works both above or below ground can be undertaken by the practice whether it be works associated with rail, civil/geotechnical engineering, building or marine projects.

Our Chartered Engineers have extensive backgrounds in all aspects of the industry. Their expertise covers the design of proprietary formwork and falsework systems, modular propping systems and heavy-duty bridge props as well as façade retention systems and so on.

We have completed many detailed projects involving various types of excavation support systems – traditional raking basement propping, cofferdams, ground anchored contiguous bored piled walls and top-down basement methods. We have conducted many fully independent checks of temporary works for principal contractors.

TEMPORARY WORKS COORDINATION AND INSPECTIONS

GDR Engineering Ltd are experts in this field. We can offer temporary works inspections and sign-offs through ‘Installation Check Certificates’ for approval of either fully completed temporary works or those installations still under construction.

The design and site expertise of our engineers enables us to arrange site visits to check the installation of temporary works and, when required, can assist the project Temporary Works Co-ordinator and issue a permit to ‘Load/Strike’.

Over a period of many years we have experience in inspections of temporary demountable structures, such as grandstands, marquees, stage structures and barriers associated with festivals and public events. Using provided drawings and manufacturer’s guidelines, we will make a full structural inspection, give immediate feedback as necessary and issue an Installation Check Certificate.

Whatever your time constraints and circumstances we endeavour to complete by your required deadline.
